Waterpolo is a fast-developing sport in Scottish Universities, with many students making excellent use of the fine facilities available in our institutions. The SUS Waterpolo programme comprises both a league and cup competition for both men and women, and provides the perfect opportunity for students interested in this fast-paced sport to stay, or get, involved in it while at University.
The Men's League comprises seven teams, with five taking part in the Women's section. League fixtures are played throughout the winter months, with each team playing one another once.

2009/2010 LEAGUES:
The eventual league winners are declared Scottish Universities Champions. In addition, a knockout Cup takes place annually. The trial for the Scottish Universities team is incorporated into this weekend, with players selected both on their form in the event and on the basis of a trial.
The best players will be selected to represent the Scottish Universities team in the Celtic Nations Waterpolo Championships versus Welsh and Irish Universities, in February. This competition takes place in Glasgow, Cardiff or Galway, running concurrently with the Celtic Nations Swimming Championship.
In addition, those Universities taking part in the programme all play in BUCS qualifying groups, with those successful progressing to the latter stages of the various British Universities and Colleges Sport knockout competitions to compete against the best University sides from across the UK. Please visit www.bucs.org.uk for more information about British Competition.
