Snowsports.

Scottish Universities are well-placed to take advantage of some of the best facilities and conditions for the sport in the United Kingdom. The sport is flourishing in Scottish Universities at the moment, with a real drive to promote Scotland as a centre for the sport, and energy through the University Clubs to increase membership and improve competitive opportunities.

The Scottish Universities Dryslope Championships (SUDS) takes place at Hillend, Edinburgh, in late October/early November each year - just a couple of weeks before the equivalent British Universities event at the same location. This Championship has an almost complete programme for both skiers and snowboarders, in both racing and freestyle, and attracts athletes of all standards from across the University network, including some elite performers.

The Scottish Universities Snow Championships is, of course, dependant on the snow at the Scottish resorts. The event takes place each academic year, where possible, but is subject to the level of snow cover and complex logistics in getting all the competitors to the resort, often at short notice. However, when possible, a full SUS programme is completed for all disciplines.
